I’ve been exploring the Anthony family since 1993 and still find more to learn. Seeing Susan in the context of her family enriches my understanding and appreciation of all that she did. I hope that my booklet “Twelve Lessons Susan B. Anthony Learned From Her Family” will enrich you, too.

The blood that ran through the Anthonys’ veins was completely loyal to their country. However, they sometimes disagreed with U.S. policies on human rights—for example, how to end slavery or how women should be treated.

Along with Susan, all five of her siblings took action on these issues. The valuable lessons and contacts that their parents provided helped them grow into the forward-thinking adults they became.
